Angthong National Marine Park
Snorkeling, Sightseeing and Kayaking.
Angthong National Marine Park is another favoured charter destination and consists of 42 islands featuring limestone massifs, caves, tropical rainforest, deserted beaches & lagoons. ‘Angthong’ gets its name from one such lagoon on Koh Mae Koh meaning ‘Golden Basin’. There are stunning viewpoints to visit on your charter on several islands at Angthong National Marine Park, including Koh Mae Koh, Koh Paluai and Koh Wua Ta Lap.
There are plenty of activities to enjoy on your charter including visiting one of the many beautiful and secluded beaches to relax on, hiking trails into the jungle and to the islands peaks, kayaking around the rugged coastline with caves and overhanging cliff faces to explore and great snorkeling opportunities. It takes just under an hour to get to Ang Thong National Marine Park by our speed boat charter.
Snorkeling at Koh Wao
Koh Wao is in the northern most part of Ang Thong Marine Park and remains much quieter than the snorkeling sites around busier Koh Tao. There is a variety of soft corals, fascinating underwater caves and swim-through’s around Koh Wao, formed over centuries of coastal erosion, which you can explore during your time snorkeling. There is a huge diversity of marine life due to Ang Thong’s protected status as a national park, which provides a fantastic opportunity for taking some underwater pictures.
Sightseeing at Koh Mae Koh
Koh Mae Koh, or Mother Island, is the next stop after Koh Wao and cruising through some of the marine park in our speed boat. Koh Mae Koh boasts the beautiful emerald lake, an inland salt water lake, and a sensational view point over the whole marine park.
Lunch at Fisherman Village on Koh Paluay
After spending some time on Koh Mae Koh, you will board the speed boat once again to Koh Paluay, the only inhabited island of Ang Thong National Marine Park. Here you will have lunch in a traditional, working fishing village. After lunch you will have the chance to explore the village and interact with the friendly locals.
Kayaking from Song Pee Nong beach
Song Pee Nong beach is our next stop where you will have plenty of time to relax on the beach and explore the rugged coastline of Koh Paluay by sea kayak, where you may find a couple of hidden caves amongst the granite overhangs.
